Seemed similar in description to some of the other Stand-Up hair dryers and the price seemed reasonable enough to take a chance on the purchase, as there were no other reviews. I've been very happy with the purchase so far. The dryer is very quiet. I can listen to the TV or have a normal conversation while my hair is drying. I am African American with very thick shoulder length hair. It dried my hair perfectly giving me moist and bouncy curls no different from that received at a professional salon. I've used it both on my own and it was also used with my beautician. My beautician has recently started a mobile business and has been coming to my home to do my hair. She liked it so much that she has also decided to purchase one for her own use, as well.
I would have given it 5-stars, except that I broke the plastic knob on the timer. It was mostly my own fault, as I turned it past the max-time. However, I still think that the plastic was a bit too flimsy and it should not have cracked so easily. It still works fine and I plan to try to just buy another knob. Nevertheless, the rest of the unit appears to be very sturdily made. Others have mentioned the the bonnet broke easily on similar models. This one doesn't appear to have that problem. It rolls easily, heats evenly and comfortably. Its also pretty easy to put together and adjust the height. Almost forgot, this one also has the very loud bell which rings when the timer is done....nearly jumped out of my chair. At least, you won't oversleep.
